3:17 PM, September 9th

We receive a request for a quote for a metal fabrication prototype. They specifically ask for a 1 day turn around, which is not the usual M.O.

3:32 PM, September 9th

We decide to take on the job and send the quote back to the customer at rapid speed.

David Puleo, our VP of Operations here at GTR Manufacturing, loops all necessary employees in on this quick turn prototype. The same evening, we receive the PO (Purchase Order) and prepare to get to work the next morning.

7:06 AM, September 10th

The prototype is moved from quote to order entry and is assigned a job number as well as a sales number, which allows for the programming of the job.

The job programming is finished, releasing the job to the floor for picking. We sort through our vast inventory of sheet metal and pick a specific sheet for this quick turn prototype.

8:46 AM, September 10th

The sheet of metal moves to Cell 1, where the 1st piece of laser work is finished and inspected. It is important to us that every piece of work is inspected at every stage of the process. We do not want any mistakes, mishaps, or hiccups making it through.

The deburring process begins. Deburring is the removal of imperfections on our metal and creates a safer/better-looking product. It is important to do this as it also reduces friction between machines and metal workpieces as well as improves their aesthetics and life span.

9:50 AM, September 10th

1 of our 6 Amada HG Series Press Brake is programmed, and the forming of the metal begins. Metal forming is a process that utilizes force to reshape metal into a desired configuration, shape, or size. It is an essential aspect of the metal fabrication industry.

10:11 AM, September 10th

The metal forming is complete, and the parts are thoroughly inspected before moving on.

10:45 AM, September 10th

The freshly formed prototype is cleaned and prepared for packaging. It is important to do this as we do not want the customer to receive a dirty, unaesthetic part.

10:56 AM, September 10th

The prototype is wrapped and protected with bubble wrap. We make sure to put enough bubble wrap on so that if there are some bumpy roads on the way to the customer, the part will
