Manufacturers and their customers are navigating a changing landscape in the United States. Some teams are considering reshoring, while others are looking at different strategies to reduce risk and keep lead times predictable.
At GTR Manufacturing, we’re proud to build parts in America. But we know that “American-made” must come with speed and a smooth customer experience. That’s why we’re constantly investing in new equipment and processes to ensure you can have your parts manufactured as efficiently as possible.

Faster Prototyping Turnaround With In-Department Finishing
In recent years, we’ve seen requests evolve in our sheet metal prototyping services. In the past, “fit and function” was often the only focus. Today, many customers use prototyping to ensure a part is fully production-ready. Prototypes often reflect the entire manufacturing process, including sheet metal finishing.
We also added a new 10-foot press brake in the prototype shop. This enables larger bends and keeps prototypes aligned with the capabilities in our high-volume facility. That creates a smoother transition when you’re ready to scale or trying to go to market.
Expanding and Optimizing Precision CNC Machining Services
We’ve shared updates before about the new machining capabilities we’ve added, growing our services larger than ever. These investments have expanded our capacity, enabled us to handle larger parts, and sped up production by machining complex parts in fewer setups.
But equipment is only part of our growth. To get the most out of these investments, we’ve been implementing continuous improvement efforts, including Kaizen events and shadow boarding, a tool storage strategy for increased efficiency. These initiatives help reduce wasted effort and optimize the shop floor to ensure our lead times stay as fast as possible.
Meeting Rising Demand for Production Powder Coating
At our headquarters, we’ve seen changes over our decades of experience offering metal finishing services. Most notably, we’ve recently seen increasing demand for powder coating across many industries. As a result, we’re adding more powder coating booths to keep pace with customer needs. It’s reducing bottlenecks and improving our status as a single-source solution for customers who need multiple services.
This expansion reflects our customer-led approach to growth. When we see demand rising and know an investment will deliver more value to our customers, we act quickly.
